The character 研, which appears in my company logo, embodies the essence of research and study, aligning perfectly with my tutorial philosophy.

In both Chinese, 研 means "to study" or "to research", reflecting my commitment to fostering a deep understanding and curiosity in students. This character symbolises the journey of exploration and learning that I strive to inspire in each of my students. I believe that my lessons are not one-directional but encourage active participation from both sides.

The "research" aspect of 研 signifies that students are not merely recipients of knowledge but are active contributors to their learning process. I often present questions that go beyond textbooks, challenging my students to think critically and engage deeply with the material, making the learning experience collaborative and dynamic.

About Me

I have always been fascinated by mathematics and physics because they explain how the world works, from why the sky is blue to how forces, waves and electricity shape everyday life. As a student, I was not someone who could learn effectively by memorising for hours, so I had to develop clearer, more efficient ways to understand difficult ideas. This experience strongly shaped the way I teach today.

I studied Physics at undergraduate, master's and doctoral level, building a strong foundation in advanced mathematics, theoretical physics and problem solving. During my postgraduate studies, I taught electromagnetism at Hong Kong Baptist University and supported secondary school students preparing for Asian and International Physics Olympiad competitions, where several achieved gold and silver awards.

After moving to the UK, I worked with Pimlico Connections and The Access Project, providing free academic support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. These experiences helped me understand the differences between the Hong Kong and UK education systems, and allowed me to adapt rigorous Asian STEM training to the UK GCSE and A-Level curriculum.

My teaching is highly exam-focused, but I also aim to make lessons clear, structured and engaging. I focus on breaking down complex concepts, building strong foundations and helping students express their ideas accurately under exam conditions. My goal is to help students gain confidence, achieve ambitious academic targets and develop the problem-solving skills needed for future success.
